About the Caravan

HMS DRAKE's Caravan is a luxurious 3-bedroom lodge (6 person + 2 on a sofa bed in the living room if required), owned and managed by HMS DRAKE Central Amenities Fund (CAF).  The purpose of the caravan is to provide current serving personnel permanently based at HMS DRAKE/HMNB Devonport (including Lodger Units), the opportunity to enjoy a break with their families by the sea in Exmouth.

The caravan is located on the 5* Devon Cliffs Holiday Park.  Hire of the caravan includes passes to enable you use of all the facilities on site, such as indoor and outdoor swimming pools and two entertainment venues.  There are also other activities that can be booked at an extra cost on site such as Archery and Segway hire. 

The site also has various dining facilities, bar areas and entertainment for all ages, such as Burger King, Papa Johns and a Wetherspoons.  The cards will enable you to receive 15% discount on all food and drink purchased at these venues.

Local Attractions include Exmouth Beach, Crealy Theme Park, Paignton Zoo and Powderham Castle.

Outside Space

A cosy, welcoming and spacious space, perfect for relaxing and spending quality time. Two sofas, one of which is a sofa bed for additional guests. There are patio doors that lead out onto the decking area.

The caravan has a fully fitted kitchen, including gas oven, 4 ring hob, dishwasher and full size fridge freezer. All utensils, pans and crockery is provided.

The caravan features three bedrooms. The master double bedroom includes a King-size bed, ample wardrobe and storage space, a dressing table, phone charging points and an en-suite bathroom with a walk-in shower. The other two bedrooms have twin beds.

The exterior features a private deck complete with outdoor furnishings as well as convenient parking space for one vehicle next to the caravan.

Hire Charges

Hire charges for the caravan are split into LOW, MID and HIGH Season.  The caravan can either be hired for the weekend Fri-Mon or Midweek Mon-Fri. In the High Season, only weekly hires are permitted Sat-Sat.  The Hire Charge includes bedding and a cleaning charge but does not include towels.  

No Pets are allowed in the caravan.

Payment Terms:

Deposit

Upon confirmation of your booking request by the CAF office, please ensure to make a deposit  payment of £100 within two working days to secure your reservation.

Remaining Balance

The outstanding balance is required to be settled in full six weeks before the hire date; failure to do so will result in us reserving the right to cancel your reservation.

Hire Charge

The hire charge covers the expenses for cleaning, gas, electricity, site fees, as well as park passes for access to all on-site facilities. Whilst bedding is provided, guests are required to bring their own towels.


Cancellation Policy

Should you need to cancel your booking, refunds are processed in accordance with the timeframes below:

More than 12 weeks              Complete refund of all monies paid

6-12 weeks                             Deposit is retained unless a replacement                                                  booking can be made 

Less than 6 weeks                  Deposit is completely non-refundable

We recognise that the requirements of the Service may necessitate changes to plans. Should you need to cancel or modify your booking due to the requirements of the Service, then please contact the CAF Manager to discuss your options.
